Arriving at Bodrum Airport

Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) is not on the Bodrum peninsula but on the mainland, in the district of Milas: about 37 km by road from Bodrum town and 17 km from Milas. Every ride to the resorts follows the D330 south-west past Güvercinlik, then crosses the hills to Torba or Bodrum. Torba is about 32 km away, Gümbet and Bitez about 40 km, Yalıkavak and Turgutreis about 55 km.

The airport has two separate terminal buildings, the International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal. Flights from abroad arrive at the International Terminal; flights from Istanbul, Ankara and other Turkish cities at the Domestic Terminal. With your flight number we see which one you land at, so your driver waits at the right exit. If you change from an international to a domestic flight, allow time to walk from one building to the other.

Bodrum is a summer airport. In 2025 about 4.4 million passengers used it, and in August it handles about eight times as many as in January. The international season runs from late March to November. In high season the passport queues, the taxi rank and the road onto the peninsula are at their busiest, so a driver who is already waiting for you saves the most time then.

How you meet your driver

Five steps from the plane to the car.

  1. We follow your flightWith the flight number in your booking we watch your arrival time and terminal. If you land early or late, the driver adjusts; delays of up to 6 hours cost nothing extra.
  2. You get the meeting detailsBefore you arrive we confirm the meeting details on WhatsApp. Switch your phone on after landing so the driver can reach you.
  3. Passport control and baggageAfter an international flight, go through passport control, collect your bags and walk through customs. Your 90 minutes of free waiting are counted from the moment your plane lands.
  4. Look for your nameYour driver waits at the arrivals exit of your terminal with a sign showing your name or the 3E logo. Taxi drivers and other transfer firms wait there too, so look for your own name.
  5. To the carThe driver helps with your luggage and walks you to the car. You pay at the end of the ride, in cash, in Turkish lira, euros or dollars.

Can't see your driver, or still waiting for a bag? Stay where you are and message us on WhatsApp at +90 541 334 2102. We answer around the clock and will guide you to each other.

Bodrum Airport to your hotel: your options

There are four ways to leave the airport. This is how they compare for a trip to Bodrum town.

Fares checked in October 2026: Muğla taxi tariff of March 2026 and bus fares of May 2026. They change during the year.

Private transfer

For one person travelling light to Bodrum town, the bus is the cheapest way. For a family or a group with suitcases, a private transfer is the simplest: one vehicle for everyone, a fixed price you know before you fly and a driver waiting with your name. In Bodrum we drive Mercedes V-Class vans, for up to 6 passengers, and minibuses, for up to 16, with room for suitcases, golf bags and pushchairs. The vehicle is yours alone, with no stops at other hotels, and you pay only at the end of the ride.

Taxi

Taxis wait in front of the exits of both terminals around the clock; the rank is run by the airport taxi cooperative. Taxis in Muğla province run on the meter: since March 2026 the tariff is 150 TL to start plus about 50 TL per kilometre, so Bodrum town comes to roughly 2,000 TL, Gümbet and Bitez to 2,100–2,400 TL and Yalıkavak or Turgutreis to 2,800–3,000 TL. A taxi takes up to four passengers. In Bodrum, Uber books the same licensed taxis through its app.

Havaş and Muttaş buses

Havaş and the municipal Muttaş buses (line 48-24) run from the airport via Güvercinlik to Bodrum's bus stations. A ticket costs 270 TL per person, or 220 TL to Güvercinlik; Muttaş takes bank cards and the Muğla Kentkart. The buses are timed mainly to domestic flights, so after an international flight ask at the airport where and when the next one leaves. The ride takes 30 to 50 minutes. No bus goes on to Gümbet, Bitez, Turgutreis or Yalıkavak: from the bus station you continue by dolmuş (shared minibus) or taxi.

Tour-operator shuttle

Many package holidays include a shared shuttle bus. It usually waits for passengers from several flights and then stops at several hotels, so the ride takes longer than the drive itself. If you booked your hotel or villa yourself, there is no shuttle for you.

Where are you going? Resorts and travel times

Bodrum town, Gümbet and Bitez

Bodrum town, with the castle and the marina, is about 37 km from the airport, 35–50 minutes. Gümbet, over the hill to the west, is about 39 km, and Bitez about 41 km, 40–55 minutes. For hotels in the pedestrian lanes of the old town, the driver stops at the nearest point a vehicle may reach.

Torba, Göltürkbükü and Gündoğan

Torba, on the north coast, is the resort closest to the airport: about 32 km, 30–40 minutes. Göltürkbükü, with its hotels and beach clubs on the water, is about 48 km, 50–60 minutes, and Gündoğan about 47 km, 45–60 minutes.

Yalıkavak

About 53 km, 55–70 minutes, at the north-western end of the peninsula. We drive to the marina, the hotels and the villas on the hills alike; for a villa, send us the exact location or a map pin when you book.

Turgutreis, Gümüşlük, Akyarlar and Ortakent

Turgutreis, on the west coast, is about 55 km, 50–70 minutes. Gümüşlük is about 57 km, 60–75 minutes, and Akyarlar about 58 km, 65–75 minutes. Ortakent and Yahşi, on the south coast, are about 45 km, 45–55 minutes.

Güvercinlik, Milas, Kaplankaya and Didim

Güvercinlik, on the way to Bodrum, is about 17 km, 15–20 minutes, and Milas about 18 km, 20–25 minutes. Kaplankaya, on the coast near Bozbük, is about 50 km, around 50–60 minutes. Didim (Altınkum) is about 83 km, 75–90 minutes.

Tips for your arrival

  • Book with your flight number. With it we track your flight and see your terminal, so an early or late landing changes nothing for you.
  • International or domestic? The two terminals are separate buildings: flights from abroad arrive at the International Terminal, flights from Istanbul and other Turkish cities at the Domestic Terminal.
  • Switch your phone on after landing. The driver can then call you or write to you on WhatsApp.
  • Carry Turkish lira, euros or dollars in cash. You pay the driver at the end of the ride.
  • July and August are the busiest months. The airport, the taxi rank and the D330 onto the peninsula are at their busiest, and around Turkish public holidays the road to Bodrum can come to a standstill. Allow extra time on the day you fly home.
  • A large group or a lot of luggage? Choose the Mercedes V-Class for up to 6 passengers or the minibus for up to 16. The price is per vehicle, not per person.
  • Children ride in child seats. They are required by law. Add an infant seat, child seat or booster when you book.
  • Flying out of BJV? Be at the airport about 2½ to 3 hours before an international flight, at the right terminal. Book the pickup about 3½ hours before departure from Bodrum town, Gümbet or Bitez, and about 4 hours before from Yalıkavak, Turgutreis or Göltürkbükü; in July and August add half an hour.
