The drive from Istanbul Airport to Şişli and Nişantaşı
Istanbul Airport and Şişli are both on the European side, so this transfer does not cross the Bosphorus. The drive is about 38 km, almost all of it on motorways, and comes into the city at Mecidiyeköy. Late at night it takes about 40 minutes; on weekday mornings and evenings, when the roads into Mecidiyeköy and Levent are at their busiest, allow up to 75.
Şişli is the city's main business and shopping district: Mecidiyeköy and its office towers, Bomonti, Fulya and Harbiye, and Nişantaşı with its boutiques on Abdi İpekçi Avenue and Teşvikiye. We drive to every hotel and address in the district, and on to Maçka and Taksim nearby.

No Havaist bus ends in Şişli. The nearest line is the Taksim bus (HVL-9, 470 TL per person in autumn 2026), and from Taksim Nişantaşı is still about 2 km uphill. The metro is the cheapest way: the M11 from the airport to Gayrettepe, then the M2 one stop to Şişli-Mecidiyeköy or two stops to Osmanbey, the station for Nişantaşı. At Gayrettepe the M11 platform lies 72 metres underground, the deepest in Istanbul, so with suitcases expect long escalator rides. A car is simpler: the driver meets you in the arrivals hall and takes you to your hotel's door, and the price does not change in traffic.
Arriving in Şişli and Nişantaşı
Many streets in Nişantaşı and Teşvikiye are narrow and one-way, and parking is tight along the shopping streets. The driver takes you to your hotel's door, or to the nearest point where a car may stop, and helps you with your bags. Add your hotel's name and address when you book.
From Nişantaşı it is a walk of a few minutes to Osmanbey station on the M2 metro, which runs south to Taksim and north to Şişli-Mecidiyeköy and Levent. Maçka Park and Taksim are within walking distance.

Can I take the metro from Istanbul Airport to Nişantaşı?
Yes. Take the M11 to Gayrettepe, change to the M2 and ride two stops to Osmanbey; Nişantaşı is a short walk from there. It takes about an hour, with a long escalator climb at Gayrettepe. You pay with an İstanbulkart.
Can you take me from Şişli back to Istanbul Airport?
Yes. Book a pickup from your hotel. For an international flight we suggest leaving about 3½ to 4 hours before departure, as the roads out of Mecidiyeköy can be slow at rush hour.
