The drive from Sabiha Gökçen to Beşiktaş

Sabiha Gökçen is on the Asian side of Istanbul and Beşiktaş on the European shore of the Bosphorus, so this transfer crosses one of the Bosphorus bridges. The drive is about 45 km. Late at night it takes about 50 minutes; on weekday mornings and evenings, when the bridge approaches are at their busiest, allow up to 90. The bridge toll is included in our price.

Beşiktaş runs along the European shore from Dolmabahçe Palace past Ortaköy and Kuruçeşme to Bebek, and up the hill to Levent and Etiler. We drive to every hotel in the district, and to Nişantaşı and Şişli nearby.

How you meet your driver

Five steps from the plane to the car.

  1. We follow your flightWith the flight number in your booking we watch your arrival time. If you land early or late, the driver adjusts; delays of up to 6 hours cost nothing extra.
  2. You get the meeting detailsBefore you arrive we confirm the meeting details on WhatsApp. Switch your phone on after landing so the driver can reach you.
  3. Passport control and baggageGo through passport control, collect your bags and walk through customs. Your 90 minutes of free waiting are counted from the moment your plane lands, which is enough for most passport queues.
  4. Look for your nameYour driver waits in the arrivals hall of your flight, international or domestic, with a sign showing your name or the 3E logo.
  5. To the carThe driver helps with your luggage and walks you to the car. You pay at the end of the ride, in cash, in Turkish lira, euros or dollars.

Can't see your driver, or still waiting for a bag? Stay where you are and message us on WhatsApp at +90 541 334 2102. We answer around the clock and will guide you to each other.

Sabiha Gökçen to Beşiktaş: your options

There are four ways to get from Sabiha Gökçen to Beşiktaş. This is how they compare.

OptionPriceTimeDoor to doorGood to know
Private transfer Fixed per vehicle, see prices above50–90 minYesDriver meets you in arrivals; bridge toll included
Taxi Meter: about 2,200 TL, plus the bridge toll50–90 minYesPrice rises in slow traffic on the bridge approaches
Havabüs to Taksim 485 TL per personAbout 1½ h, then onwardNoNo Havabüs goes to Beşiktaş; from Taksim, a taxi or the funicular down to Kabataş
Metro M4 and ferry Lowest, İstanbulkart faresAbout 1½–2 hNoM4 to Kadıköy, then a ferry across the Bosphorus to Beşiktaş

Fares checked in October 2026: taxi tariff of 20 July 2026, Havabüs fare from its own site, bridge toll of 2026 (59 TL), İstanbulkart fare of July 2026. They change during the year.

The ferry route is the cheapest and the most scenic: the M4 metro runs from the airport to Kadıköy in about 50 minutes, and from Kadıköy pier ferries cross the Bosphorus to Beşiktaş. With suitcases it means stairs, a walk to the pier and a wait for the boat. The Havabüs goes only to Taksim. A car is simpler: the driver meets you in the arrivals hall and takes you to your hotel's door, the price does not change in traffic, and the bridge toll is included.

Arriving in Beşiktaş

The market streets of the Beşiktaş Çarşı, by the ferry pier, are narrow and crowded, as is the cobbled square by the mosque in Ortaköy. The driver takes you to your hotel's door wherever a car may stop; elsewhere they stop at the nearest point and help you with your bags. Hotels in Akaretler and on the slopes above the shore sit on steep one-way streets, so add your hotel's exact name when you book.

Most waterfront hotels between Dolmabahçe and Bebek stand on the shore road, which is slow at rush hour, around sunset and at weekends. From the pier in Beşiktaş, ferries cross to Üsküdar and Kadıköy on the Asian side.

Questions about this transfer

How long does the transfer from Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) to Beşiktaş take?

About 50–90 minutes for roughly 45 km, depending on traffic.

Is the price per person?

No. The price is per vehicle and fixed when you book, so traffic does not change it.

Where does the driver meet me?

In the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name. We follow your flight, so the driver is there even if you land late.

Which bridge does the driver take?

The quicker one at the time: usually the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge or the 15 July Martyrs Bridge. The toll is included in our price. If you would rather take the Eurasia Tunnel, ask when you book; it costs 10 euros extra.

How much is a taxi from Sabiha Gökçen to Beşiktaş?

On the Istanbul meter, 71.94 TL to start plus 47.92 TL per kilometre since July 2026, the 45 km come to roughly 2,200 TL in normal traffic, plus the bridge toll, more in a jam. Our price is fixed per vehicle and shown before you book.

Is there a Havabüs from Sabiha Gökçen to Beşiktaş?

No. The Havabüs goes to Taksim (485 TL, about 1½ hours) and to Kadıköy. From Taksim, Beşiktaş is a short taxi ride, or take the F1 funicular down to Kabataş and walk along the shore.

Can you take me from Beşiktaş back to Sabiha Gökçen?

Yes. Book a pickup from your hotel. For an international flight we suggest leaving about 4 hours before departure, as the bridges can be slow at rush hour.
